200g butter 130g caster sugar 3 A eggs 185g LP flour, sifted 1 1/2tsp baking powder, sifted 0.5 tsp baking soda 45ml milk/soya milk 2 tsp orange emulco 40g milo powder | 1. Place the butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until light and creamy. 2. Add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition. After well combine, slightly increase speed and add orange emulco and beat for 1 minute till fluffy. 3. Add the flour, baking soda and baking powder (sifted together) and beat well to combine, fold milk alternately and combine well. 4. Pour 1/4 of plain batter and place in another clean mixing bowl, mix well with milo mixture. 5. Pour half of the plain batter followed by orange batter and remaining plain batter into the 6/7' cake tin (greased with butter). Using a butter knife/spatula, gently swirl it around the mixture in the tin a few times to create a marbled effect. Tap the tin to remove any air bubbles. 6. Bake at preheated oven at 180c for 40-50mins or until a skewer insert and come out clean. |
